It has emerged that a Qatar Airways Boeing 787 currently in flight from Doha is asking for security assistance and paramedics on arrival to Dublin.

The report comes from AirLive who has confirmed this information in the last 15-20 minutes.

It is unclear what the scale of the incident is onboard Qatar Airways flight QR17 between Doha and Dublin.

About A7-BCH…

QR17 is being operated by A7-BCH.

As per Planespotters, A7-BCH is a 10.3 year old Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that was delivered to the airline in March 2014.

Furthermore, of the Boeing 787-8 variant, Qatar Airways has 30 of them in the fleet, of which all are in active service.

Average fleet age for their 787-8s are around 9.7 years at present.

Qatar Airways Have Commented!

This morning (19/3/24), Qatar Airways have responded to AviationSource’s response for a comment regarding the incident on QR17 yesterday.

A spokesperson said the following on this:

“We can confirm that Qatar Airways flight QR17, a Boeing 787-8 from Doha to Dublin, landed on 18 March with the aircraft being met on arrival due the requirement for medical treatment of one passenger.”

“Additionally another passenger was met by local authorities due to behaviour on board.”
