Earlier this week, a Discover Airlines Airbus A330 from Windhoek to Frankfurt made an emergency landing in Palma de Mallorca.
This flight was affected by technical issues, as we will explore further in this article.

4Y133 – Windhoek to Frankfurt: Palma Emergency Landing…
Discover Airlines flight 4Y133 is a routine scheduled flight between Windhoek and Frankfurt.
The aircraft involved in the emergency landing at Palma de Mallorca is registered as D-AIKB.
As per data from Planespotters.net, D-AIKB is a 20.2 year old Airbus A330-300 that started out life with Lufthansa in March 2004.
Furthermore, by September 2021, the aircraft was handed over to Eurowings Discover, which became Discover Airlines.
Of the A330-300 variant, the airline has 10 of them, of which all are in active service.
Furthermore, the average fleet age for the type at the airline remains at 17.6 years.
Discover Airlines flight 4Y133 departed Windhoek at 1908 local time on April 4.
The aircraft proceeded northbound to Frankfurt and got as far as Palma de Mallorca before the diversion took place.
From there, the aircraft made a safe emergency landing onto the Spanish island without further incident.

As per Aviation24, it is understood that Discover Airlines flight 4Y133 Windhoek-Frankfurt suffered a technical issue.
It is not clear exactly yet what the nature of that technical issue is currently.
What we do know is that the National Police and Civil Guard were mobilized to handle the situation.
