Ryanair has today reported a five per cent rise in passenger numbers for February 2024.
The Irish low-cost carrier continues to grow at scale, and is preparing for a busy Summer season.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
Monthly Numbers from Ryanair…
For February 2024, Ryanair carried 11.1m passengers, which is a five per cent increase on the same period last year.
Load factors remained the same at 92%, showing strong consistency in filling seats.
For the rolling 12 month period, 182.6m passengers have been handled, which is a nine per cent increase.
Load factors for that specific period also rose one percentage point to 94% overall.
Preparing for a Busy Summer 2024 Period…
Over the last four weeks, Ryanair has been very busy in preparing for the Summer 2024 season.
They have made announcements regarding expansion of routes in the following bases:
- Alghero & Olbia.
- Malta.
- Portugal.
- Palermo.
- Rzeszów.
- Austria.
- Kaunas, Lithuania.
- Tenerife.
- Krakow.
- Pisa, Palma, Menorca & Ibiza.
It is expected that more announcements will be made by Ryanair in the coming weeks ahead.
As we approach the Summer 2024 period, this is the area in which the airline seeks to succeed strongly.
Having a successful Summer will set the low-cost carrier up for the rest of the year thereafter.
This is on the scale of increased passenger numbers, but also revenue and profitability.
Overall…
Things continue to go very strongly for Ryanair, with the latest passenger figures a good example of that.
As we get closer and closer to the Summer season, all eyes will be on the airline’s overall performance.
To achieve 300m passengers per annum by the 2030s, the Irish low-cost carrier will continue to expand in Europe.
But for now, let’s see how their 2024 performs, moving forward.
