Furthering the development of US regional air travel, Lilium N.V. (NASDAQ: LILM), the developer of the all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet, has forged a strategic partnership with Atlantic Aviation.

Atlantic is a prominent fixed-based operation (FBO) and aviation services provider. This collaboration aims to prepare Atlantic’s extensive network of over 100 FBOs for the imminent launch of Lilium Jet’s regional air mobility service in the United States.

eVTOL Operations in the US

The partnership between Lilium N.V. and Atlantic Aviation formalizes a shared goal to establish a efficient infrastructure to integrate eVTOL technology into mainstream air travel.

The partnership combines Lilium’s innovative eVTOL jet and Atlantic’s widespread presence across major U.S. cities.

It will now facilitate Advanced Air Mobility operations within Lilium’s targeted markets, including Florida, Southern California, the Northeast corridor, and Texas.

Central to the collaboration is the focus on ensuring compatibility between the Lilium Jet and Atlantic’s network of aviation assets.

This entails planning and coordination in areas such as infrastructure deployment, operations management, and enhancing the overall passenger experience at existing and forthcoming FBO sites.

Infrastructure Deployment and Operations

The partnership prioritizes various aspects crucial to the successful integration of the Lilium Jet. On the operational side it involves defining optimal flight paths, and implementing efficient operations forecasting mechanisms.

On the airside, it will establish charging infrastructure, and develop passenger facilities.

By addressing these critical components, Lilium and Atlantic aim to optimize the accessibility and usability of eVTOL technology. This will then nestle within Atlantic’s extensive aviation network.

Lilium’s Commercialization Strategy

Sebastien Borel, Lilium’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed confidence in the new partnership. He emphasized Atlantic’s expertise in ground infrastructure development and customer service. This factor is instrumental in realizing Lilium’s vision for sustainable regional travel.

Similarly, John Redcay, Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer at Atlantic, highlighted the collaborative effort as a testament to their commitment to advancing eVTOL technology and reshaping regional air transportation.

Lilium’s commercialization approach focuses on manufacturing and selling the Lilium Jet for private, premium, and shuttle operations.

The partnership with Atlantic highlights the importance of ensuring aviation facilities readiness to support Lilium’s go-to-market strategy effectively.

Impact on Regional Air Transportation

The collaboration between Lilium and Atlantic holds the promise of transforming regional air transportation. It offers convenient connection between cities while significantly reducing travel time.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Lilium and Atlantic follows several strategic partnerships globally. The latest partnering furthers Lilium’s journey towards commercializing its eVTOL technology.

Last year saw an important milestone with the commencement of Lilium Jet production. The collaboration with Atlantic further solidifies Lilium’s position as a leader in the eVTOL air mobility sector.
