New flights between Montreal and Vancouver with Porter Airlines marks a new era in the airline’s growth.

With this launch, they revealed that this is their first route to Western Canada.

The new flights operate on a daily basis using their Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

Commenting on the special milestone was Kevin Jackson, president, Porter Airlines:

“Our presence in Montréal is continuing to grow directly through new Porter service and with our strategic airline partnerships.”

“Our first western route from Montréal will take Porter’s elevated economy service to even more passengers across Canada and the globe.”

Adding to this was Mark Ruel, Director, Capacity and Air Service Development, ADM Aéroports de Montréal:

“ADM Aéroports de Montréal is thrilled with the addition of Vancouver to the destinations offered by its partner, Porter.”

“Whether it’s for business or to explore the landscapes of Western Canada, this new nonstop service offers a range of options for passengers departing from YUL.”

“We are very pleased to be supporting Porter in expanding its Canadian offering to meet the needs of various groups of travellers.”

“The quality of YUL’s service is a reflection of its vitality, which benefits the entire community!”

Finally, Terry Chou, Manager, Air Service Development, Vancouver International Airport said the following:

“We congratulate Porter Airlines on the start of its new daily non-stop service between Montréal and Vancouver just in time for the spring travel season and Montréal’s renowned International Jazz Festival.”

“As one of YVR’s most popular Canadian destinations, the new service will provide passengers with an additional option and more flexibility when travelling.”

“This announcement further strengthens YVR’s position as the gateway of choice, providing more non-stop travel options.”

Such a milestone from Porter Airlines with the new Montreal-Vancouver flights is representative of strong growth.

Back in February, they revealed a significant expansion plan, which includes three new crew bases at:

  • Ottawa
  • Montreal
  • Vancouver

Last month, Porter Airlines inaugurated flights between Toronto and Las Vegas.

Finally, not long after the Las Vegas inauguration, flights to Los Angeles & San Francisco were launched from Montreal.

We can see clearly there that the growth is very rapid for the Canadian airline.

In conclusion, it remains clear that the new Montreal-Vancouver flights with Porter Airlines is representative of overall growth at the airline.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how this new service performs, as well as whether there is scope to expand this further.

This is expected to be a popular route, especially over the Summer season as well.

But for now, let’s see what performance looks like, as well as the airline’s behaviour towards that.
