It has been revealed that United Airlines has had to delay it’s planned launch of flights between Tokyo and Cebu as well as Newark-Faro due to the current FAA audit.

This, of course, is not good news for the airline, as the scrutiny continues amid a series of incidents that have taken place.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

As per @_ZachGriff from The Points Guy, United Airlines is delaying the launch of the Newark-Faro & Tokyo-Cebu flights due to the ongoing FAA audit.

This prevents the airline from opening up new routes at this present time.

The Newark-Faro flights will not launch this Summer, with no specified date planned for this route.

Furthermore, the Tokyo-Cebu flights are delayed until October 2024 at the earliest.

Of course, as the FAA audit goes on, then this could produce more delays for future route launches with United Airlines like the Newark-Faro & Tokyo-Cebu flights.

Recent Incidents…

United Airlines has been subjected to an FAA audit due to a high string of incidents that took place back in March, which has resulted in the delay of launch to the Tokyo-Cebu & Faro-Newark flights.

The CEO Scott Kirby said the airline was taking action following this, but since then, more incidents have arisen.

On March 28, one of the airline’s Boeing 767s operating a flight to New York Newark suffered a hydraulic issue.

By March 31, reports came out that a toilet overflowed onboard a Boeing 777 flying from Frankfurt to San Francisco.

Finally, a United Airlines Boeing 777 suffered an engine surge not long after departure for Rome, bound for Washington D.C.

All eyes will be on when United Airlines will pass the FAA audit, so then they can operate new flights such as Newark-Faro & Tokyo-Cebu.

Overall…

In conclusion, it will be a blow that the Newark-Faro & Tokyo-Cebu flights can’t launch with United Airlines due to the FAA audit.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on if they pass this audit.

All eyes will be on how long it takes for this process to be completed.

Because, whilst the priority is safety, the airline is wanting to grow it’s global presence with new flights.
