Brazilian Air Force C-390 Millenniums mark ten thousand flight hours

The Embraer C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, has reached the significant milestone of ten thousand flight hours with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), after just 4 years of service. 

The statistics surrounding this aircraft are quite impressive, with the complement of six aircraft achieving an operational availability of 80% and a mission accomplishment rate exceeding 99%.

The C-390 Millennium

The C-390 Millennium, produced by the Brazilian company, Embraer, is a true multi-mission tactical military transport aircraft, boasting exceptional air mobility and versatility.

It can transport a remarkable 26 metric tons, equivalent to 57,300 pounds. This far exceeds the capabilities of other military transport aircraft in its class.

Moreover, the C-390 is built for speed, reaching an impressive 470 knots. This speed ensures that it can swiftly and efficiently carry out a wide range of missions.

A Multi-Mission Powerhouse

The C-390 Millennium is designed to excel in various missions, making it a versatile asset for any air force.

Its capabilities include logistic transportation, aerial delivery of cargo and troops, aeromedical evacuation, search and rescue operations, fire-fighting, and humanitarian aid missions.

What makes it truly exceptional is its ability to perform these missions from both unpaved and paved runways, providing flexibility that is second to none.

Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) Capability

In addition to its remarkable features, the C-390 Millennium has showcased its air-to-air refueling (AAR) capabilities during operations with the Brazilian Air Force. It is cleared to refuel different fighter aircraft, expanding its utility and reach.

Furthermore, it can also receive fuel from other KC-390 aircraft using pods located under the wing. This feature enhances its capabilities in various mission scenarios.

Global Recognition and Uptake

The success and acclaim of the C-390 Millennium extend beyond Brazil. This aircraft has received orders from Portugal and Hungary, both of which are NATO countries.

Furthermore, the Netherlands, Austria, and the Czech Republic have also chosen to include the C-390 Millennium in their military fleets.
