In the last few moments, a Lufthansa Airbus A330 flying between Frankfurt and Dubai has declared an emergency.

D-AIKL is the aircraft operating this flight.

D-AIKL, the aircraft involved this emergency, is a 16.1 year old Airbus A330-300.

As per Planespotters, it was delivered to Lufthansa back in March 2008.

Furthermore, of the A330-300 variant, the German carrier has 10 of them in the fleet, of which nine are in active and one is parked.

Average fleet age for the variant in the airline’s fleet is at 14.7 years.
