London Stansted Airport has this week unveiled record-breaking passenger numbers for February.

The airport is continuing growth plans well, as they get ready for the Easter period in the weeks ahead.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

London Stansted Airport handled 1.92m passengers in February, beating the same period in 2020 by 50,000.

Of that figure, 360,000 of them were handled during the famous February half term in the UK.

Commenting on the growth was the airport’s Chief Operating Officer, Jonathan Fowler:

“It’s been a really strong start to the year, and we’re certainly not seeing any let-up in the demand to fly as we now look ahead to the upcoming Easter break.

“The wet and cold weather here in the UK during February clearly encouraged many people to head off in search of some winter sun, but we also welcomed tens of thousands of visitors heading into London or sampling the delights of the East of England.”

“We’re now gearing up for the Easter holiday which is always a busy time of year for the travel industry.”

“Holidaymakers will again be taking advantage of the choice, value and simplicity of using London Stansted to catch some much-needed sunshine, visit one of Europe’s great cities or head to the Alps for some end of season skiing.”

Growth Continues at the Airport…

Over the last month or so, the growth at London Stansted Airport has been evident.

Around a week ago, the airport welcomed Royal Jordanian with new flights to Amman which operate on a four-weekly basis.

On top of this, the airport also expanded it’s cargo presence with Hong Kong Air Cargo.

Operating on a twice-weekly basis, this represents the airline’s first ever service into the UK.

So things aren’t going too badly at London Stansted Airport at the moment, as they ramp up for a busy Summer 2024.

Overall…

In conclusion, the airport is having positive results in the more quieter parts of the year.

This is good news, because revenues can remain relatively steady up to the point where they make the most money: Summer 2024.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how the upcoming busy period will perform for them.

But for now, let’s see how things go for the airport moving forward.
