It has been revealed this week that Jet2 will expand it’s Faro flights from Bournemouth to include holiday offerings to Costa de la Luz.

More choice from the UK airport means the potential for more flights if bookings are strong for the Summer 2025 season.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

It is understood the Costa de la Luz holidays will be available via Jet2 (LS/EXS) flights from Bournemouth to Faro for the Summer 2025 season.

The airline is facing strong demand for the next 12 months.

Passengers will benefit from more offerings as demand grows.

Furthermore, it also means this region will join the other four areas that are bookable under the LS network:

  • Punta Umbria
  • Isla Canela
  • Isla Cristina
  • El Rompido

Moreover, Costa de la Luz will be available from May to October 2025 for such flights between Bournemouth and Faro with Jet2.

Commenting on the recent announcement was Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy:

“We are absolutely delighted to be giving customers and independent travel agents the chance to discover an authentic slice of Spain thanks to the launch of Costa de la Luz as a brand-new destination from Bournemouth Airport for Summer 25.”

“As a result of this launch, customers can easily reach this stunning region and Spain’s best beaches via Faro Airport.”

“This expansion comes on the back of fantastic demand from customers and independent travel agents looking to experience all the qualities that make us an award-winning airline and tour operator.”

“Thanks to the launch of this brand-new destination, we look forward to welcoming even more holidaymakers onboard from our newest base, and showcasing all the reasons why we delight customers.”

Adding to this was Steve Gill, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport:

“This is another great new addition to our summer 2025 schedule and means holidaymakers have even more choice when booking their summer break in Spain with Jet2holidays from Bournemouth Airport.”

In conclusion, this is strong news for Bournemouth Airport.

Moreover, the Costa de la Luz offering will no doubt enable more bookings to be made on the Bournemouth-Faro flights.

Airlines like Jet2 are experiencing strong travel demand still.

This can be seen through offering bookings up to a year or more in advance.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on whether this new addition will prove popular with passengers.

If it does, then it will open up scope to expand flights from out of the area.

But for now, let’s see what happens over the next 12 months as booking are made.

If all goes well, then this could be another money maker for the airport and the airline.
