Anne Doyere, the Aviation Director at London City Airport had this to say on the new ITA Airways services:

“We’re delighted to strengthen our partnership with ITA Airways and bring back another key route into our network as we continue to recover and grow.

“Rome will open up a huge range of new travel options for those on connecting flights, so we look forward to welcoming many new passengers to London City”.

The airport has stated that passengers who use this service are able to take advantage of onward connections to destinations as far as Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo & Buenos Aires.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how these new services perform when they begin in March 2024 to Rome Fiumicino as well as whether there is additional scope to extend frequencies, just like they have with the Milan Linate route that is effective from next month.
