Fiji Airways has commenced direct flights between Nadi and New Caledonia with the inaugural flight departing Nadi International Airport this afternoon.
With the inclusion of twice weekly flights between Nadi International Airport and La Tontouta International Airport in Noumea, the national airline now services 26 international destinations.

The latest expansion places the Fijian flag carrier Fiji Airways into the league of airlines servicing a remarkable 26 international destinations; further firming its position as a key player in the Pacific aviation landscape.
Company Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Andre Viljoen, expressed his enthusiasm about the latest venture, emphasizing the untapped potential New Caledonia holds, especially for transit guests.
“There is a growing demand for connectivity across the Pacific and indeed the world, and we stand ready to fill this need when and where possible,” he remarked.

The airline will operate flights every Monday and Thursday between Nadi and Noumea, strategically timed to connect seamlessly with onward global connections. This strategic move aims to meet the increasing demand for hassle-free travel options.
The French Connection
Highlighting the uniqueness of this route, Mr. Viljoen pointed out, “New Caledonia being a French territory, there is a lot of traffic between France and Noumea. We are in a unique position to provide seamless travel options via our flights to North America and Asia and codeshare thereon.”
This strategic advantage not only enhances connectivity but also positions Fiji Airways as a preferred choice for those seeking diverse travel routes.
