Air India’s First Airbus A350 Rolls Out The Paint Shop…

The first Air India Airbus A350 consists of the new branding that was unveiled earlier on this year.

Campbell Wilson, the airline’s CEO & MD, had this to say on the rebranding at the time:

“Our transformative new brand reflects an ambition to make Air India a world-class airline serving guests from around the globe, and that represents a new India proudly on the global stage.

“The new [airline] is bold, confident, and vibrant, but also warm and deeply rooted to its rich history and traditions that make Indian hospitality a global benchmark for standards in service.”

It is understood that the delivery of this aircraft will encourage an entry-into-service date of December 2023.

As per Simple Flying, this now means there are two A350s currently in testing or development, with the other unit being registered as F-WZFZ currently in an all-white scheme.

The Indian carrier currently has a total of 470 aircraft on order, with options for an additional 370. In terms of the firm orders, they are:

  • 140 Airbus A320neos.
  • 70 A321neos.
  • 34 A350-1000s.
  • 6 A350-900s.
  • 190 Boeing 737 MAXs.
  • 20 787-9 Dreamliners.
  • 10 777Xs.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on delivery day for these new jets, as well as the services that they will be allocated to in December.
