“Delta once again topped the Best Airlines report, proving that consistency is key for travelers as they take to the skies in record numbers”.

“We understand that a traveler’s airline choice is a personal decision based on how they like to fly.”

“That’s why we created this resource to help readers understand where different airlines excel and fall short, so they can make informed decisions.”

The publication also outlined their methodology, with the decision made on the following factors:

  • Reliability (30% of the decision-making)
  • Experience (25% of the decision-making).
  • Costs & Reach (20% of the decision-making).
  • Loyalty (25% of the decision-making).

The bottom two was Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines.

Furthermore, the report from The Points Guy stated that they dropped by 4.44 percentage and 5.39 points respectively.

They judged their lowest-performing areas as the following:

  • Spirit Airlines:
    • Wheelchairs/scooters.
    • Family travel.
    • Route network.
  • Frontier Airlines:
    • Timeliness.
    • Cancellations.
    • Involuntary Bumps.
    • Customer Satisfaction.

That being said, for Delta Air Lines in the #1 of Top 10 Best Airlines in America, their lowest-performing area was affordability.

Delta Air Lines officially responded to winning the #1 spot of the top 10 best airlines in America on June 12.

Their Chief Customer Experience Officer Allison Ausband said the following:

“This award speaks to the dedication and capability of our people”.

“In every season and in the face of every challenge, Delta people rise to the occasion and set us apart, year after year.”

For Delta Air Lines, this is the sixth year in a row that they have won this accolade from The Points Guy.

Considering this report has been around for eight years, it does show the testament of quality that the airline has.

In conclusion, it comes as no surprise that Delta Air Lines has won the #1 spot of Top 10 Best Airlines in America by The Points Guy.

Furthermore, they clearly have some areas to improve on, as Alaska Airlines in the #2 spot are improving.

They improved by 3.84 points and are in close 2nd at 64.38 out of 100 compared to Delta at 65.74.

There is the possibility that the results could change next year, unless Delta Air Lines addresses the affordability concerns.

Looking ahead, it is going to be interesting to see what the next edition of this report holds.

This year for Alaska Airlines will be a focus towards baggage as well as wheelchair/scooter access for passengers.

If they can get that right, then they could be in with a chance of taking the #1 spot of the Top 10 Best Airlines in America.

As for the likes of Frontier Airlines & Spirit Airlines, all eyes turn to them in terms of how they can improve passenger experience over the next 12 months.

All eyes will be on the next 12 months to see how far things evolve by the carriers in that list.
