Etihad Airways has begun new flights between Abu Dhabi and Jaipur, in continued growth for the airline in the region.

This new destination becomes the airline’s 11th within India, which shows how far they have come in that market.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

The New Abu Dhabi-Jaipur Flights with Etihad Airways…

Etihad Airways began flights between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Jaipur (JAI) on June 16, operating on a four times per week basis.

The scheduling for these services is as follows:

  • EY0366 DEP AUH 0305 ARR JAI 0805
  • EY0367 DEP JAI 1100 ARR AUH 1300

Flights between the two cities of Abu Dhabi and Jaipur operate on a four times per week basis with Etihad Airways.

The Airbus A320 is the aircraft of choice for these flights, offering between 28,288 & 32,864 seats per year, depending on the configuration.

Furthermore, what was interesting was the airline’s note of travellers heading to the United States from Jaipur.

They advertised the US Customers & Border Protection Facility in Abu Dhabi which travellers can use.

This would indicate that the airline expects a lot of connecting travel for passengers from the Indian airport.

Commenting on the new flights between Abu Dhabi & Jaipur was Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways:

“With the resurgence of outbound travel from India, we are thrilled to start four weekly flights to Jaipur, a significant cultural and commercial centre.”

“By establishing this crucial air link with Rajasthan, we aim to meet the increasing demand from travellers in and around the region, providing them with convenient access to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and seamless connectivity to our extensive global network, while delivering a remarkable flying experience.”

Such growth has been pretty strong for Etihad Airways.

Earlier this month, they revealed the handling of 1.5m passengers in May, an increase of 400,000 passengers.

Year to date totals right now stand at 7.2m passengers, which is two million passengers higher than in YTD 2023.

Load factors remain steady in the 84-85% area, despite growing their fleet by 15 aircraft to 90 in the last 12 months.

It was an eventful May for the airline, noting some milestones.

They signed an interlining partnership with the following five airlines:

  • Kam Air.
  • SKY express.
  • Rex Airlines.
  • Jeju Air.
  • Myanmar Airways International.

On top of this, they posted a record profit for the first-quarter of this year, due to their notable rise in passenger numbers so far.

Also, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Royal Air Maroc to strengthen their existing relationships that they have in place.

Finally, they announced a joint venture last week with China Eastern Airlines which will take place in 2025.

In conclusion, the new flights between Abu Dhabi & Jaipur with Etihad Airways is another signifier of growth.

From handling more passengers than in May last year, to the continuous agreements signed and new routes started, things are going well.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how this new route into the Indian market performs.

The airline seems to think it will, especially with the notable aspect about U.S Border facilities at AUH.

But for now, let’s see how things go over this busy Summer 2024 period.
