Aero has announced they will be launching semi-private flights to Coachella Valley for the upcoming music festival.

“We’re thrilled to launch Aero flights to some of the world’s largest music, sporting, art, and entertainment events in 2024,” says Ben Klein, CEO of Aero.

The flights, operated in partnership with RPPROJECTS, will link Van Nuys (VNY) airport in Los Angeles with Indio’s Thermal Airport, CA.

“Flying Aero means getting to the airport 20 minutes before your flight and avoiding all the hassles associated with traveling commercially, including long lines, crowds, and baggage claim,” states Klein.

Short flight, high cost

Tickets for the flights to Coachella with Aero start at $975 each way.

With a direct flight distance of 121 nautical miles, this works out to around $8 a nautical mile.

Despite the cost, the “Flexible” and and “Most Flexible” tickets on the first flight are sold out.

Furthermore, the second flight is entirely sold out.

In exchange for the cost, “Once airborne, our guests enjoy complimentary amenities including Starlink Wi-Fi, in-flight dining, and a premium open bar.” said Klein.

Route Expansion

Thermal, serving Coachella, is the latest in Aero‘s lineup of destinations. From their Van Nuys base, the airline also serves Aspen, Colorado, Hailey, Idaho and Los Cabos, Mexico.

According to planespotters.net, the airline operates a fleet of five Embraer ERJ-135 aircraft, with an average age of 21.7 years.

However, the age shouldn’t put any potential passengers off, as the aircraft are all configured in a 16-seat first class interior.

“Aero guests desire an exceptional travel experience – and our average NPS score of 92 is testament to our attention to detail and level of commitment. It’s unlike any other offering on the market,” adds Ben Klein, CEO.

The flights with RPPROJECTS is the first of a number of collaborations for various events in the US during 2024. Further routes will be announced in due course.
