National Jet Express Expands Charter Presence in NSW

National Jet Express (NJE), a member of the Rex Group, has announced new weekly charter services between Brisbane and Orange, NSW.

The operator will provide air services in support of for mining and civil contractor SEE Civil.

This expansion marks NJE’s eighth East Coast destination since launching Brisbane services in July 2023 and their inaugural venture into New South Wales.

“We’re thrilled to bring NJE’s state-of-the-art De Havilland Dash 8-400NG aircraft to Orange,” said Robin Furber, NJE’s interim Chief Operating Officer.

“This service strengthens the Rex Group’s presence in the region, building upon our long history of serving Orange with scheduled flights from Sydney.”

Dash 8-400NG Aircraft

The New South Wales charter service will utilize NJE’s modern and fuel-efficient De Havilland Dash 8-400NG (Next Generation) aircraft.

This popular choice for the mining, resources, and construction industries boasts comfortable seating for up to 82 passengers, jet-like speeds, and a modern cabin design.

Compared to competitors’ aging 20-30 year old aircraft, the Dash 8-400NG offers a significant leap in passenger experience.

NJE Fleet Growth

NJE remains committed to fleet growth to meet the ever-increasing demand for their services.

This commitment is evidenced by the recent addition of a seventh 104-seater Embraer E190 aircraft.

As the largest regional operator of scheduled passenger services (RPT) in regional and rural Queensland, the Rex Group boasts a network of 24 destinations and a growing fleet of domestic Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

About National Jet Express

Founded in 1994, NJE has become an integral part of the Rex Group since joining in October 2022. To support their Queensland base expansion and overall network growth, they’ve added a new De Havilland Dash 8-400NG aircraft.

This brings their total fleet to nine Dash 8-400NGs, complementing their existing fleet of seven Embraer 190 jets used for mining and resource clients across Australia.

Additionally, NJE operates four British Aerospace 146s for overnight freight services between Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast.

They also utilize three De Havilland Dash 8-100 aircraft for FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) operations in Papua New Guinea and between PNG and Cairns.
