Piper Aircraft, Inc. has announced aircraft delivery and revenue results for Q2 2023.

Across all metrics, its performance surpassed those from the same quarter in 2022 while the general aviation market continues to stabilize.

Strong Performance Sets a New Benchmark

The results speak volumes about the company’s continued success and its pivotal role in shaping the general aviation market. Firstly, Piper Aircraft has outperformed its own Q2 2022 metrics across the board.

Notably, the general aviation market, which has been undergoing stabilization, witnessed Piper’s exceptional progress.

Compared to the same quarter in 2022, aircraft deliveries increased by a substantial 14 percent. Moreover, Piper’s revenue surged by an impressive 19 percent during this period.

A Closer Look at the Numbers

In specific terms, Piper Aircraft’s Q2 2023 deliveries saw an increase of seven aircraft. This surge in deliveries translates to a substantial revenue increase of over $9 million.

The driving force behind this success can be attributed to the high demand for Piper’s M-Class and Trainer aircraft.

The M-Class retail backlog is nothing short of astounding, with projections reaching well into 2024. Similarly, the trainer backlog extends into late 2025 and 2026, depending on the trainer model.

This robust backlog not only reflects the trust customers place in Piper’s products and services but also highlights the company’s ability to consistently deliver a full line of general aviation aircraft, even in the face of challenging supply chain constraints.

Words from the CEO

John Calcagno, Piper Aircraft’s President and CEO, commented on the achievements, stating, “The demand for our high-performance M-Class family, featuring the turboprop M600/SLS, M500, and the piston-powered M350, is evident in our steady growth.”

“While new deliveries remain strong in Q2 2022, the availability of near-new used models continues to hover at record lows of about two percent.”

Calcagno continued, “At the same time, Seminole, Archer, and Pilot 100i sales have increased by an impressive 20 percent compared to Q2 2022.”

“We continue to witness an unprecedented demand for our robust trainers designed to meet the rigors of real-world training environments, effectively meeting the demands of world-class training academies worldwide.”

Expanding Horizons Internationally

Piper Aircraft’s success isn’t confined to the domestic market alone. The company’s international growth is equally remarkable, with a 50 percent increase in international deliveries during this quarter compared to the same period in 2022.

This global expansion underscores the continued worldwide appeal of the brand’s offerings.

The Piper Aircraft Advantage

A key factor contributing to Piper Aircraft’s success is its diverse range of leading-edge aircraft models.

Designed to cater to a wide spectrum of aviation enthusiasts, from single-engine trainers to high-performance business aircraft, Piper’s lineup offers versatility, reliability, and state-of-the-art technology.

This broad range of options makes Piper Aircraft an attractive choice for a wide array of pilots, and their commitment to quality and performance ensures their place at the forefront of the aviation industry.
