Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus is set to introduce its enhanced PC-24, offering an aircraft with upgraded range, payload, luxury, and innovation.

With the introduction of the enhanced PC-24, Pilatus has once again pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the world of business jets.

Beginning with new aircraft deliveries in 2024, Pilatus has extended the payload-range capability of its Super Versatile Jet to achieve a maximum range with six passengers of 2,000 nautical miles (3,704 kilometers).

In addition, the PC-24 has undergone a transformation that includes a host of new interior amenities, making it a true game-changer in its class.

Pilatus PC-24 Boost in Payload and Range

One of the standout features of the new PC-24 is its increased payload and range. Pilatus has managed to boost the full fuel payload by a substantial 600 pounds (272 kg), allowing for greater flexibility in passenger and cargo combinations.

With six passengers on board, the PC-24 can now stretch its legs an additional 200 nautical miles (370 km), giving it an impressive maximum range.

Moreover, the PC-24 now boasts a full fuel payload of a single pilot plus 1,315 pounds (596 kg), setting a new standard in its category.

And if you need to carry even more, the maximum payload capacity has been ramped up to a class-leading 3,100 pounds (1,406 kg). It’s clear that Pilatus has left no stone unturned in optimizing the PC-24’s capabilities.

Swiss Engineering Excellence

Bruno Cervia, Vice President of Engineering for Pilatus, sheds light on how they achieved this remarkable feat:

“The payload increase was achieved by refining both wing and fuselage structural elements to reduce the airframe empty weight while simultaneously increasing the maximum gross take-off weight limit. It’s simply Swiss engineering at its best.”

Indeed, Pilatus engineers conducted an extensive flight test campaign to ensure that the PC-24 could perform flawlessly at these higher design weights.

Even at its maximum take-off weight, the PC-24 requires only 3,090 feet (941 meters) of runway at sea level, making it suitable for use on very short and even unpaved runways. This level of versatility is unmatched in its class.

Enhanced Passenger Experience

The enhancements to the PC-24 aren’t limited to its performance; the interior has received a significant makeover as well.

Pilatus was already known for offering the largest cabin volume in its class, and now they have taken it a step further.

Ambient sound levels have been reduced to create a more peaceful environment for passengers, thanks to optimization of passenger service unit ducting, noise-absorbing panels, and tuned engine accessory air intake ducts.

Cabinetry, storage areas, and the Welcome Center have all been refined to optimize the vast amount of space in the PC-24’s cabin.

But perhaps the most exciting addition is the collaboration with Lufthansa Technik, which has resulted in a new integrated Cabin Management System (iCMS).

This system includes a 10″ touch screen controller with a 3D moving map, four high-fidelity cabin speakers with a sub-woofer option, mood lighting, USB ports, and a media storage server.

These amenities ensure that passengers are not only comfortable but also entertained throughout their journey.

The Luxury of a Convertible Divan

Pilatus has gone a step further in the comfort department by offering an option that’s truly unique in its class. Passengers can now enjoy a large side-facing divan that stretches an impressive 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m) in length.

What sets this divan apart is its ability to be converted into a bed during the flight, providing a level of luxury and convenience that’s unparalleled in business aviation.

Predictive Maintenance

Pilatus is also introducing a groundbreaking feature for PC-24s from serial number 501 onwards. This feature enables predictive services, wherein key aircraft data is automatically transmitted to Pilatus upon landing.

The data is then analyzed, and if necessary, predictive recommendations are made to the operator. This proactive approach to maintenance ensures that the PC-24 remains in peak condition, minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.

The Best PC-24 Ever

In the words of CEO Markus Bucher, “More range, greater payload, enhanced comfort, and increased operability were the primary focus of this major PC-24 improvement program. The PC-24 upgrade includes over 1,000 modifications throughout the aircraft.”

“Yet again, we went all the way to the limits of what is possible, making maximum use of our engineering capabilities to deliver the best PC-24 ever. With this major upgrade, there is simply no other business jet on the market capable of consistently performing like our Super Versatile Jet.”

The first glimpse of this remarkable aircraft will be at the National Business Aviation Association’s Annual Convention in Las Vegas, October 17-19
