ForeFlight, a Boeing company, and Honda Aircraft Company have taken a significant leap forward in this direction, announcing full support for all HondaJet HA-420 models through ForeFlight’s cutting-edge Runway Analysis product.

This latest integration promises to revolutionize takeoff and landing planning for HondaJet pilots, adding an extra layer of safety and efficiency to their flight operations.

Enhanced Flight Planning

ForeFlight, already a stalwart supporter of enroute performance planning and weight and balance calculations for the HondaJet, now emerges as an all-in-one solution with the addition of Runway Analysis.

This feature seamlessly integrates obstacle analysis capability into the flight planning process, presenting HondaJet pilots with a comprehensive toolkit.

Through ForeFlight Mobile, pilots can conduct thorough planning well in advance of boarding, with the system incorporating vital flight plan data, such as departure and destination airports, planned route, forecast weather, and weight and balance calculations.

Obstacle Analysis

The standout feature of ForeFlight Runway Analysis lies in its ability to transform the traditionally tedious task of calculating takeoff and landing performance into a swift and automated process.

Pilots simply need to select their departure runway, and ForeFlight performs a sophisticated obstacle analysis, providing results within seconds.

Moreover, any subsequent changes to the flight plan trigger an automatic recalculation, ensuring that the information remains up-to-date and accurate.

Following the signing of a data license agreement, the two companies worked closely to develop and verify Runway Analysis models for HondaJet.

Notably, Honda Aircraft Company provided digitized high-resolution performance data, streamlining the model-building process.

This approach not only ensured a high degree of accuracy from the outset but also eliminated potential errors associated with manual digitization or poor-quality scans.

Honda Aircraft Flight Operations

Beyond Runway Analysis, ForeFlight also supports Honda Aircraft Company’s Flight Operations department pilots with its Dispatch flight planning and ForeFlight Mobile EFB solutions.

This collaboration aims to streamline company flight operations, showcasing Honda aircraft performance quickly and comprehensively to customers.

Hideto Yamasaki, President & CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, expressed his approval of the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to work with ForeFlight to create new values in business aviation, building on Honda’s longstanding approach of ‘Safety for Everyone’.”

Tim Schuetze, CEO of ForeFlight, echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting the collaborative effort to provide safer and more integrated flight planning solutions.

“We look forward to continued collaboration to elevate the experience of HondaJet pilots everywhere,” said Schuetze.
