Cirrus Aircraft has unveiled the Special Edition Vision Jet (SF50) to celebrate the delivery of its 500th Vision Jet, the world’s first single-engine personal jet.

This achievement solidifies the Vision Jet’s status as the best-selling jet for five consecutive years, serving as a versatile asset for both business and personal travel.

Widely utilized by Part 91 and 135 operators, the Vision Jet, now in its G2+ version, offers in-flight Wi-Fi and the Cirrus IQ™ mobile app, enhancing connectivity for streamlined business travel.

Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of Cirrus Aircraft, commented on this milestone, stating, “With the delivery of the 500th Vision Jet, Cirrus Aircraft celebrates the marketplace success of a category-defining aircraft.”

“The Vision Jet is the only jet that features advanced innovations like the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System® (CAPS®), Safe Return Autoland, Wi-Fi, Cirrus IQ, Auto Radar, and a suite of other safety, comfort, and convenience features.”

The Vision Jet

The Vision Jet is not just an extraordinary little aircraft; it’s also an efficient and sustainable platform for business aviation operators.

With the Vision Jet, operators can achieve many missions that larger corporate jets undertake, but at significantly smaller operating costs.

Its innovative single-engine and V-tail design offer greater flexibility for both short regional and longer cross-country missions. The Vision Jet is environmentally conscious and it can be powered by SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel).

According to Conklin & De Decker, it boasts the lowest CO2 emissions rate compared to all general and business aviation jets.

Concierge Owner and Operator Support

Cirrus Aircraft extends comprehensive support services to Vision Jet owners throughout their aircraft’s lifetime.

The JetStream™ program simplifies ownership by providing a predictable cost of ownership, inclusive of a range of services from recurrent training to subscriptions, such as Jeppesen Charts, Sirius XM Weather, and Garmin Connext.

Moreover, Cirrus Aircraft offers progressive inspections for aircraft operating over 400 hours per year, which helps reduce the operating cost per hour and minimizes downtime compared to routine FAA 100-hour requirements.

500th Limited Edition Design

To mark this industry milestone, Cirrus Aircraft’s Xi Design team created five Limited Edition Vision Jet liveries, inspired by the jet’s unique design and bold colorways.

Owners can choose from five exterior color options to complement the striking Obsidian Black and Vision Blue paint.

Energetic graphic lines accentuate the movement and motion of the design on the exterior. All commemorative aircraft are adorned with 500th Limited Edition branding throughout.

The interior of the Special Edition Vision Jet features an exquisite combination of blues, grays, and carbon fiber.

The crew seats are designed with heathered gray Alcantara, complemented by a leather shoulder and headrest featuring an embroidered 500th edition emblem.

The center of the seat is a cascade of diamond-patterned leather with stylistic perforations, adding to the jet’s overall elegance.

Evolution of the Vision Jet

Since its initial release in 2016, the Vision Jet has undergone several significant evolutions, with each version building on the legacy of innovation.

The Generation 2 (G2) Vision Jet, introduced in 2019, received RVSM Certification, allowing the aircraft to reach a maximum altitude of 31,000 feet (FL310). This increase in altitude brought about improvements in speed and efficiency.

The G2 also acquired an Auto Throttle and engineering enhancements that provided an additional 200 lbs. of payload capacity.

In 2020, the Vision Jet introduced the groundbreaking Safe Return Autoland feature. Utilizing the Garmin Auto Land system, it became the first jet aircraft to receive and certify this advanced safety feature.

In 2021, the G2+ Vision Jet was introduced, boasting up to a 25% increase in takeoff performance and the inclusion of Wi-Fi. This version enables convenient regional travel by unlocking 40% more airports than previous generations, even when fully loaded on a hot day.

In 2023, Cirrus Aircraft continued its tradition of innovation by introducing Cirrus IQ and Garmin’s Auto Radar to the aircraft.

These additions provide pilots with increased situational awareness and connectivity during all stages of pre-flight and in-flight activities.

Cirrus Aircraft has a rich history of innovation and has been twice honored with the prestigious Robert J. Collier Trophy, recognizing their contributions to aviation safety with innovations like the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System and Autoland on the Vision Jet.

The Safe Return Autoland feature adds a secondary safety system that, with the touch of a button, ensures the safe landing of the Vision Jet at the nearest suitable airport, avoiding adverse weather, traffic, and terrain while autonomously communicating with Air Traffic Control and emergency responders.
