Bell Textron delivers 505th Bell 505 helicopter

Bell Textron Inc (NYSE: TYT) has successfully delivered the 505th Bell 505 helicopter to a private North American based owner, Austin Claborn. The helicopter is slated for a corporate/VIP configuration. 

Lane Evans, director, North America Sales stated on this notable event: “To mark this historic program milestone, Bell wanted to ensure the 505th delivery was a memorable event for our many employees that have worked on this program, our suppliers, and our Bell 505 customers.” 

Lane Evans added:  “The Bell 505 was designed to provide customers with unmatched cost-of-operations and performance for its value.”

“Mr. Claborn has been a Bell 505 operator since 2021 and with the upgrade to the latest platform variant, Bell is proud the aircraft continues to live up to our customer’s expectations.”

As one of Bell’s small workhorses, the helicopter was certified by Transport Canada in 2016. It remains one of Bell’s fastest-growing and most popular commercial helicopter programs. 

The Bell 505 fleet has accumulated more than 185,000 flight hours with the type in active operation on six continents globally.

This also shows how the helicopter presents as a reliable machine, loved by those in the commercial, military, and government sectors.

Aircraft Handover


The handover of the delivery ceremony took place at he Bell Textron Canada Ltd. facility in Mirabel, Quebec. 

Approximately 1,400 highly skilled motivated employees are responsible for Bell’s current and commercial production. This includes the Bell 505, Bell 407GXi, Bell 429 and SUBARU Bell 412EPX

At the time of writing, Bell has built and handed over more than 5,800 commercial helicopters. This is a testament to how Bell’s products are widely regarded across the globe. 

Bell 505 Specifications


The Bell 505 has a speed of 25 knots or 232 kilometres per hour. The aircraft has a useful load of 1,500 pounds or 680 kilograms. 

The helicopter is the company’s new five-seat aircraft designed for VIP, charter, training, and corporate usage. 

The aircraft is also highly reliable, with its performance, and efficiency through its advanced avionics and streamlined aerodynamic design profile. This allows the aircraft to fit every flight profile and mission. 

The aircraft integrates its proven dynamic components with its advanced aerodynamic design and a dual-channel FADEC Safran Arrius 2R engine. This positions the Bell 505 as the best helicopter in terms of value in its class.
