Archer Receives Part 135 Approval: Now A Commercial Airline

Archer Aviation has this week received it’s Part 135 Air Carrier & Operator Certificate, enabling themselves to begin operating as a commercial airline.

This is a major milestone, as the manufacturer continues to work on getting it’s Midnight aircraft certified.

Archer & Part 135 Approval: What Does It Mean?


Archer Aviation has this week received it's Part 135 Air Carrier & Operator Certificate, enabling themselves to begin operating as a commercial airline.

The Part 135 Air Carrier & Operator Certificate has been given to Archer Aviation‘s subsidiary, Archer Air.

This allows the company to begin operating aircraft commercially to refine it’s systems and procedures for the Midnight aircraft.

Furthermore, this achievement comes following the receival of the Part 145 certificate, which is maintenance and repair related.

When the Midnight is certified, United Airlines will be the first recipient of this aircraft type.

The Midnight will be used to replace 60-90 minute car commutes with 10-20 minute electric air taxis.

Commenting on the milestone with United Airlines representatives was Adam Goldstein, Founder and CEO of Archer:

In conclusion, this is a major step for Archer Aviation as they near certification of the Midnight aircraft.

Furthermore, once such certification has been received, this will begin a new transformative journey for commuters.
