Diversion to Stockholm (ARN)
Having transited Finnish and Norwegian airspace, the flight initiated a southerly diversion, and is making for Stockholm-Arlanda Airport (ARN); maintaining a cruising altitude of FL280 (28,000 feet).
The cause of the diversion is not yet known, and the aircraft has not declared a formal emergency at this time.

Flight data shows Qatar Airways flight QR719 departed Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) at 08:34 AST today (12:34 UTC), and established on track for the crossing to Seattle; climbing to an altitude of 30,000 feet.
The aircraft initiated the turn due south at 14:55 UTC; prior to undertaking the overwater leg of the long-haul flight.

The aircraft operating today’s flight QR719 is a Boeing 777-300ER, registered A7-BEU; a 5-year old widebody aircraft belonging to the Gulf carrier Qatar Airways.

Having diverted from Norway at 14:55 UTC, flight QR719 has continued its diversion to Stockholm (ARN), maintaining a cruising altitude of FL280.

Update 16:00 UTC Amended Diversion to Oslo
Having initially elected to divert to Stockholm (ARN), Qatar Airways flight QR719, originally bound for Seattle, is now making good an amended diversion to Oslo Airport (OSL), Norway.
With the flight now inbound Oslo (OSL) and on descent from FL280, weather for the arrival is Low Instrument Flight Rules (LIFR), with visibility currently 2.4km, light drizzle and a low cloud base of 300 feet.

Flight QR719 now being sequenced with other traffic and joining finals for RWY19R OSL; descending through 5,000 feet.

The flight now down at Oslo (OSL) – the cause of this afternoon’s unscheduled diversion remains unclear, and the aircraft did not declare a formal emergency.
