Earlier today (June 5), a Qatar Airways Airbus A350 from Doha reported a significant hydraulic failure on approach to Boston.

Qatar Airways Flight QR747 – Doha to Boston…
Qatar Airways flight QR747 is a routine scheduled flight between Doha and Boston.
The aircraft involved in this incident is registered as A7-AML.
As per data from Planespotters.net, A7-AML is a 4.9 year old Airbus A350-900 that was delivered to the airline in September 2019.
Of the A350-900 variant, Qatar Airways has 34 of them in the fleet.
Furthermore, of that 34, all but two are in active service, with an average fleet age of 7.1 years.
QR747 departed Doha at 0159 local time this morning and initially tracked west towards Boston.
As per The Aviation Herald, it is understood that during the descent, the crew reported that they were “down to a single hydraulic system”.
Despite this, no 7700 emergency squawk broadcast was transmitted, with the crew having the issue under control.
Qatar Airways flight QR747 landed safely without further incident at 0743 local time this morning.
Aircraft Still Grounded…
Data from RadarBox shows that A7-AML, which operated QR747 Doha-Boston, is still on the ground following the incident this morning.
At this stage, it is unclear when the aircraft will re-enter commercial service following this hydraulic failure.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed in a statement that they would be investigating the incident:
“Qatar Airways Flight 98Y landed safely at Boston Logan International Airport around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, after the crew reported possible hydraulic issues.”
“The Airbus A350 took off from Doha in Qatar. The FAA will investigate.”
