RA-47821, the aircraft in question that was involved in this incident in Russia, which had 30 passengers and four crew onboard.

It is understood that the aircraft was flying from Yakutsk to Zyryanka and then onwards to Srednekolymsk before making the return journey back.

No one onboard the aircraft was injured, and the aircraft was luckily not damaged as a result of this incident.

As per Nature World News, authorities in Russia have opened an investigation into this incident, with the committees looking into alleged infractions of road safety standards and the operation of air transportation.

Sources stated that the pilots couldn’t see the runway, resulting in them missing it and then landing on the frozen river instead.

Polar Airlines is said to be cooperating with the overall investigation so far, with a report expected on this to be released in due course.

This isn’t the first time the airline has been in trouble before. Back in May this year, they were accused of operating aircraft with improper maintenance.

Such a unique story like this is the next one in what has been a very interesting year for Russia and air incidents.

Earlier this year, a Ural Airlines Airbus A320 had to land on a field in Novosibirsk as they ran out of fuel during their approaches.
