It has emerged that Philippine Airlines has cancelled flights due to the eruption of Mount Kanlaon.
This eruption has caused significant disruption to air travel over the last 24 hours.

In a travel advisory, Philippine Airlines have cancelled the following flights due to the eruption of Mount Kanlaon:
- Manila – Cebu – Manila
- PR2835/2836
- PR2841/2842
- Manila – Antique – Manila
- PR2905/2906
- Manila – Iloilo – Manila
- PR2139/2140
- PR2141/2142
- Manila – Bacolod – Manila
- PR2129/2130
- PR2131/2132
- Cebu – Iloilo – Cebu
- PR2380/2381
- Cebu – Bacolod – Cebu
- PR2285/2286
- Cebu – Iloilo – Cebu
- PR2384/2385
- Iloilo – General Santos – Iloilo
- PR2891/2892
The airline has said the following on the eruption of Mount Kanlaon:
“Due to the eruption of Mount Kanlaon, we are compelled to cancel several flights.
“This is a developing situation.”
“We advise you all passengers to check the status of your journey before proceeding to the airport.”
“We seek your understanding for these operational changes as flight and passenger safety remains our top priority. Thank you.”
Philippine Airlines has said that if your flight is cancelled that you can convert your ticket to travel credits.
You are also able to rebook or reroute your ticket to another flight with available space too.
About The Stratovolcano…
It is understood the eruption of Mount Kanloan happened over the last 12-18 hours.
As per The Guardian, it is understood that the eruption caused volcanic ash to be spewed 5km in the air.
Following the eruption, a strong earthquake occurred, which prompted a suspension in some infrastructure-based activities, such as school and work.
It is understood that authorities are monitoring to see if the volcano will erupt again.
However, at this time, it has not erupted further at the publication of this article.

There will no doubt be disruption ahead following the volcanic eruption of Mount Kanlaon.
Philippine Airlines haven’t issued any additional advisories as of yet, as we need to see the extent of the damage the eruption has caused.
Looking ahead, all eyes will be on rescue efforts, as well as bringing infrastructure back to normal.
