On 19 May 2024, a serious incident occurred at Koltsovo International Airport (SVX) involving a Ural Airlines Airbus A320 aircraft.

The incident involving a ground handler occurred during pushback operations.

The A320 had just begun to taxi after the pushback procedure. At the same time, an airport ground worker was still under the nose of the moving aircraft.

The sole ground crew member appears to have still been completing pre-taxi checks in front of the aircraft. Positioned in front of the nosegear of the aircraft, he was not visible from the flightdeck.

As a result, the ground worker was struck by the taxiing aircraft and is reported to have sustained serious injuries. It is understood that the injured worker was then transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the premature taxi by the Ural Airlines flight.
