IndiGo flight 6E2221 is a routine scheduled flight between Amritsar and New Delhi, with the affected rotation being operated by VT-IZN.

As per data from Planespotters.net, VT-IZN is a 5.2 year old Airbus A320neo that was delivered to the Indian carrier back in December 2018.

Of the A320neo variant, the low-cost carrier has 188 of them in their fleet, of which 146 are in active service and 42 are currently parked, offering an average fleet age of 3.8 years.

IndiGo flight 6E2221 departed Amritsar at 0720 local time on February 11 and proceeded in the direction of New Delhi.

As per The Aviation Herald, after landing into it’s destination, the aircraft slowed to taxi speed along the runway but missed the turn off and came to a stop with the nose gear past the runway end.

Around 25 minutes after this incident, the aircraft was towed to the apron, with no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

IndiGo later reported that the incident with flight 6E2221 occurred due to low visibility at the airfield.

VT-IZN has been flying again since the incident, with the damage clearly minor and requiring little maintenance work.
