In developing news, the EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (BSL) has once again been subject to an emergency evacuation due to a bomb threat.
The main terminal building has been evacuated as a precaution, and flight operations are presently suspended pending investigations.
EuroAirport Basel (BSL) targeted
This becomes the third time in a week that the airport has been subject to a bomb threat. Last week, the airport experienced emergency evacuations on two consecutive days as a wave of email bomb threats saw multiple French airports targeted.
Last week the airport, which is on French soil but also serves the nearby Swiss city of Basel, was the subject of precautionary evacuations on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 October.

Emailed bomb threats
According to French news source The Local this week, the French Transport Minister Clément Beaune stated that “almost all of the threats have been traced to the same email address, situated in Switzerland”.
“Since Wednesday, it is almost always the same email address that is used, located outside the European Union, in Switzerland,” Minister Beaune added.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
