It is understood that the evening EK19 service from Dubai was affected by this, and was told to hold on the apron because of this.

Tonight’s service was operated by A6-EUX, as per data from RadarBox.com. As per data from Planespotters.net, A6-EUX is a 6.6 year old airframe that was delivered to Emirates back in July 2017.

The airline has 119 A380s in its fleet, of which 88 are in active service, and 31 are parked, with an average age of 8.9 years.

As per @FlightEmergency on Twitter, the bomb threat on EK19 was quickly resolved. However, this did cause disruption to airport movements as such threats need to be taken seriously, so some flights were either holding or diverted elsewhere.

It is understood that operations have resumed since this incident, but reports have come in that Terminal 1 went into a full lockdown following this bomb threat.

There will no doubt be considerable delays caused to the other flights in the surrounding area as a result of this bomb scare in Manchester involving the Emirates A380.

This incident will be the second in the last few weeks, following a Kenya Airways Boeing 787 having to divert to London Stansted due to a security threat.

This remains a developing story.
