UPDATE #1 @ 1945 UK time – EK19 is currently at FL80 as the Emirates A380 approaches the Birmingham area. Diversion field unclear currently.
UPDATE #2 @ 1947 UK time – Understood that the diversion field will be Birmingham. Now descending out of FL80.
UPDATE #3 @ 1947 UK time – As per data from Planespotters, A6-EEZ is a 9.6 year old airframe that was delivered to the airline back in August 2014. This is the flight operating the Dubai-Manchester rotation.

UPDATE #4 @ 1948 UK time – EK19 is currently circling the area as crew try to lose altitude to set itself up for the approach.
UPDATE #5 @ 1950 UK time – Current winds at Birmingham are 080@12kts, the exact same as Manchester.

UPDATE #6 @ 1953 UK time – EK19 is on final for Runway 15 at Birmingham. Unclear whether the aircraft will reposition back to Manchester to continue on to Dubai later tonight.

UPDATE #7 @ 1959 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! Emirates flight EK19 has safely diverted into Birmingham following two missed approaches at its destination.
Been quite the 24 hours for this service, consisting of last night’s security incident, to a medical diversion this morning, and now tonight’s diversion.
