Aeromexico E190 Involved in Shooting Incident in Culiacán

LONDON – An Aeromexico Embraer E190 was involved in a shooting incident today in Culiacán, Mexico.

According to sources, XA-ALW was the E190 in question that was involved, with the aircraft having to abort its departure due to the shooting.

According to sources, the reason for this shooting was down to Mexican authorities capturing the Head of the Sinaloan Cartel.

UPDATE #1 @ 2244 UK time – Aeromexico has commented on the incident by saying:

 “This morning, a bullet impact was detected in the fuselage of an aircraft that was ready to operate flight AM165 on the Culiacán – Mexico City route, which was canceled for security reasons.”

“The plane never started its takeoff run. After this incident, the company’s protocols were activated, and the authorities were notified. Clients and collaborators are safe.”

“Aeromexico reiterates that the safety of customers and collaborators is and will continue to be its highest priority.”
