STS Aviation Services (STS), the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul arm of STS Aviation Group, has received regulatory approval for a dedicated aircraft engine shop at its base maintenance facility in Manchester, UK.

The approval was successfully transferred from STS Aviation Services’ facility in Newquay. The engine shop in Manchester has capacity for aircraft engine storage, inspection, repair and overhaul on several engine types; a direct compliment to STS’ in field support for aircraft engines.

“After a monumental team effort, STS Aviation Services began aircraft maintenance operations in Manchester on November 2, 2022,” states Mick Adams, Chief Executive Officer for STS Aviation Services in the United Kingdom.

“Since then, our team has delivered more than 40 aircraft to our clients on time and without delay. The aircraft engine shop is the natural next step toward helping our customers reduce aircraft maintenance costs and down time.

The shop will be led by Mike Pilbrow who has years of experience in this field, and he has already embarked on building a team of aircraft engine specialists, and that’s creating a real buzz and energy in and around the facility.”

With this added capability, STS Aviation Services once again proves its determination to become the United Kingdom’s leading, independent MRO provider.

Through its extensive investments, training, and the recruitment of the aerospace industry’s top Engineers, STS Aviation Services will continue to provide exceptional nose-to-tail aircraft maintenance solutions to its customers.

“Our aircraft base maintenance facility in Manchester incorporates a combined engine maintenance area and sheet metal workshop,” states Ian Bartholomew, Managing Director of STS Aviation Services in the United Kingdom.

“We are intent on developing further back shop capabilities, be it for an aircraft undergoing maintenance in Manchester or to support additional STS facilities and our teams in the field.”

“With this new engine shop, we can now provide fully integrated solutions for aircraft engine maintenance by way of leveraging the industry-leading skills and standards executed in and amongst our teams.”
