SkyDrive and Gujarat to drive eVTOL technology in India

SkyDrive Inc., a Japanese eVTOL aircraft manufacturer, has forged a strategic partnership aimed at ushering in the future of eVTOL aircraft operations in the vibrant State of Gujarat, India.

The collaboration, sealed with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), signifies a significant step toward integrating advanced air mobility into the state’s fabric by 2027.

SkyDrive’s collaboration with Gujarat reflects a forward-thinking approach to address contemporary challenges such as mobility emissions and urban congestion.

Tomohiro Fukuzawa, CEO of SkyDrive Inc., expressed his enthusiasm for this venture, stating, “SkyDrive and Suzuki have been collaborating in business development of eVTOL in India and developed suitability use cases.”

“We are delighted to enter into the partnership with the most innovative state in India, Gujarat, also the hometown of the Prime Minister of India, to embark on the journey together.”

The strategic partnership will extend beyond the initial introduction of eVTOLs. The DST and SkyDrive will jointly explore the essential ecosystem settings required for the subsequent social implementation of eVTOL aircraft within Gujarat.

This holistic approach underpins the partnerships commitment to creating a sustainable and efficient advanced air mobility infrastructure that is in synergy with the state’s unique needs.

Feasibility Studies

SkyDrive’s involvement in the Indian project has seen it engage in comprehensive feasibility studies to identify new business opportunities related to its eVTOL technology in Gujarat.
