Electric mobility is taking a significant step forward in Italy and the French Riviera with the recent partnership between Lilium N.V., the developer of the first all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet, and UrbanV, a leading company specializing in vertiport design and management.

This collaboration aims to revolutionize regional air transport infrastructure and create an extensive network of vertiports to facilitate the development of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) services.

The partnership between Lilium and UrbanV focuses on the establishment of vertiport infrastructure to support eVTOL networks for Lilium aircraft and customers.

Focus on Italy and French Riveria

Initially, the efforts will concentrate on Italy and the French Riviera, where UrbanV intends to launch its operations. However, the collaboration holds the potential for expanding into other markets in the future.

UrbanV brings valuable expertise in design and infrastructure to enable efficient and sustainable advanced air mobility in urban centers.

Their extensive experience in developing vertiports positions them as key players in the infrastructure development necessary for the successful implementation of eVTOL routes.

Moreover, Lilium benefits from UrbanV’s strong presence and convenient airport access in major cities such as Rome, Venice, Bologna, Nice, Cannes, and St. Tropez, as well as their surrounding areas.

Vertiports play a crucial role in harnessing the full potential of the Lilium Jet, serving as take-off and landing areas for eVTOL aircraft. Comparable in size to helipads, these vertiports provide crucial access to sustainable, high-speed, and affordable air transportation services, connecting communities and improving accessibility.
