Helicopter manufacturer Leonardo has enjoyed further success with the brokering of new contracts announced during this year’s Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LABACE 2023) held from August 8 to 10.

One of the most noteworthy announcements from LABACE 2023 came in the form of a strategic partnership between Leonardo and Gruppomodena S.A., a renowned name in Latin American helicopter services.
Gruppomodena S.A. has taken on the pivotal role of the official distributor for a range of Leonardo’s helicopter types, including the AW119Kx, AW109 legacy, AW169, and AW139.
This move solidifies Gruppomodena’s position as a key player in the civil markets of Uruguay and Argentina.
The partnership between Leonardo and Gruppomodena S.A. didn’t stop at distribution. It was sealed with a significant contract for the acquisition of two AW119Kx single-engine helicopters.
These helicopters, known for their exceptional performance and versatility, are set to become a valuable asset for Gruppomodena’s already impressive fleet.

Gruppomodena S.A. is no newcomer to the helicopter scene. With a robust presence in Latin America, the company has built a reputation for excellence in various roles.
From passenger and offshore transport to rescue operations, Gruppomodena has showcased its prowess with AW109 and AW139 helicopters.
Their authorization as a service center for these helicopters further secures their position in maintaining the highest standards in the industry.

The LABACE event also unveiled another exciting dimension to Leonardo’s offerings. A private operator from Brazil has secured an order for an AW109 GrandNew light twin-engine helicopter.
This state-of-the-art helicopter is set to make a statement in luxury and performance. Customized with VIP interiors, it will redefine private and corporate transport standards in Brazil.
Leonardo’s Brazilian Distributor
Gualter Helicopters (Aero Service Representação), Leonardo’s distributor for the latest AW09 single-engine model in Brazil, stole the spotlight at LABACE. Three separate contracts were inked for executive transport, each catering to a distinct end-user.
This standout achievement comes merely two months after Gualter Helicopters’ appointment, showcasing the fervent interest among potential operators.

The AW09 model’s success story began three years ago when Leonardo acquired it. This masterpiece represents Leonardo’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the aviation industry.
