ELIT’AVIA, a Maltese-based private aviation solutions provider, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with AURA AERO, a French aircraft manufacturer specializing in low-carbon aviation, at the Paris Air Show.

The LOI pertains to the ERA (Electric-thrust Executive Regional Aircraft), an electric aircraft designed for regional aviation.

In this recent announcement, ELIT’AVIA has increased its initial order from 20 units to 28, highlighting its commitment to sustainability.

Michel COULOMB, CEO and Accountable Manager of ELIT’AVIA International, expressed pride in being part of a more sustainable approach within private aviation through the partnership with AURA AERO.

“ELIT’AVIA has a strong commitment to sustainability and this additional order further enhances our ongoing initiatives that minimize the impact we have on the environment,” says Coulomb.

ELIT’AVIA has already undertaken various initiatives to minimize its environmental impact, such as offering carbon neutrality for its charter flights through the Green Jet Card and partnering with Azzera for greenhouse gas accounting and carbon offsetting.

The company’s expansion into the US market with ELIT’AVIA Americas further supports its growth.

ELIT’AVIA and AURA AERO have been collaborating since 2022 to develop ERA, the first zero-carbon aircraft that adheres to high business aviation standards.

About ERA

ERA is an eco-responsible aircraft incorporating numerous avionic, aerodynamic, and propulsion innovations.

It offers versatility, capable of transporting 19 passengers or 1.9 tons of freight. The cabin can also be configured for business aviation with 8 or 9 passengers.

With its pressurized cabin and superior passenger comfort, ERA has a range of up to 1,600 km and can operate at major international airports as well as short, unprepared runways.

Entry to service

The aircraft is expected to enter commercial service before 2030, and it has already garnered an order book of over 300 aircraft under Letters of Intent.

ERA presents an economically viable solution for connecting islands or facilitating direct flights between regional towns, delivering energy and maintenance cost benefits.

It addresses the environmental challenges of the 21st century by reducing CO2 emissions by up to 80% compared to thermal aircraft in the same category.

Jérémy CAUSSADE, President and co-founder of AURA AERO says: “We are very proud to have been chosen by ELIT’AVIA to decarbonize their operations and bring a sustainable solution to executive transportation”.

He adds: “At AURA AERO, we are convinced that electric is the future of regional aviation, and we are just at the beginning of this revolution!”
