Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), the Airbus Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversion specialist group has commenced operation at its new third-party freighter conversion site in Istanbul, Turkey,

Its first A330P2F conversion was inducted as scheduled in October.  With the Istanbul site now operational, EFW has a total of nine modification sites carrying out its conversion programs across the globe.

Istanbul Collaboration

EFW’s operation in Istanbul has been made possible through a partnership with Turkish Technic, a globally certified Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) company, recognized under Part 145 and Part 21 J&G organizations.

This collaboration brings together EFW’s prowess in P2F conversions and Turkish Technic’s deep experience in maintaining Airbus aircraft, creating a synergy that promises to reshape the landscape of freighter conversions.

Jordi Boto, the CEO of EFW, emphasizes the significance of this partnership, stating, “We are glad to get Turkish Technic on board, which has deep experience in maintaining Airbus aircraft.”

“By working with partners which have strong structural skills and operational excellence, we will ensure meeting our customer commitments in a robust manner.”

This collaboration not only underlines EFW’s commitment to quality but also its vision to set new standards in the industry.

Global Conversion Network

EFW’s A330P2F program, developed in collaboration with ST Engineering and Airbus, has been gaining momentum, with the first A330P2F induction in October.

EFW holds the Supplemental Type Certificate, leading not only in the overall program but also in marketing and sales efforts.

To cater to the surging demand for Airbus freighter conversions, ST Engineering and EFW have strategically established conversion sites in Asia, the United States, and Europe.

This strategic move aims to ramp up conversion capacity for all Airbus P2F programs, including the A330P2F, A321P2F, and A320P2F.

The A330P2F Program

The A330P2F program is a testament to EFW’s commitment to innovation. This program offers two remarkable variants: the A330-200P2F and the A330-300P2F, both equipped with advanced technology that delivers additional operational and economic benefits.

A330-200P2F

This variant is capable of carrying a gross payload of up to 61 tons of weight over distances exceeding 7,700 kilometers.

The A330-200P2F brings a perfect blend of cargo capacity and range, making it a preferred choice for airlines seeking cost-effective and efficient freighter solutions.

A330-300P2F

For those in need of even greater capacity, the A330-300P2F is the answer. With the ability to carry a gross payload of up to 63 tons and a containerized volume of approximately 18,581 cubic feet (526 cubic meters), this aircraft is designed for heavyweight cargo and long-haul operations.
