A Wizz Air Malta flight operating between Tirana, Albania and Lyon has declared an emergency whilst in transit over Italy.
Wizz Air Malta flight W4200, an Airbus A321-200 which departed Tirana International Airport (TIA) bound for Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYC), France has declared a general emergency, squawking 7700 as it passes over Italy.

The flight is currently executing a diversion to Rome and negotiating an approach. The nature of the emergency is not known at this stage.

The aircraft in question is Airbus A321-271NX, registered 9H-WBL, a 2-year old airframe belonging to the carrier Wizz Air Malta.
