UPDATE #1 @ 1644 UK time – United Airlines flight UA6026 between Washington Dulles & Savannah is currently descending through 8,000 feet and looks to be returning to Dulles.

UPDATE #2 @ 1647 UK time – UA6026 is tracking West towards Fredericksburg at 6,200 feet. No indication as of yet into the cause of the emergency.

UPDATE #3 @ 1651 UK time – As per Planespotters, N88331 is a 7.9 year old airframe that was delivered to Mesa Airlines back in December 2015 and operates this jet for United Airlines Express.

UPDATE #4 @ 1653 UK time – UA6026 is edging closer to Washington Dulles as they are given an ATC clearance to descend down to 4,000 feet.

UPDATE #5 @ 1656 UK time – UA6026 looks to be setting itself up for Runway 1R, 1C or 1L at Dulles Airport. Unclear why it is not continuing on to Savannah.

UPDATE #6 @ 1657 UK time – UA6026 looks to be setting up for Runway 1R at Dulles as it stands currently, although subject to change.

UPDATE #7 @ 1704 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! United Airlines flight UA6026 bound for Savannah has touched down safely back into it’s departure field of Washington Dulles following an emergency call which resulted in a u-turn back to the airport.

UPDATE #8 @ 1705 UK time – UA6026 has vacated Runway 1R. Unclear, but hearing potential engine issues coming through on ATC comms. Confirming now.

UPDATE #9 @ 1707 UK time – Looks like UA6026 has come to a full stop on one of the exit points by Runway 1R.

UPDATE #10 @ 1708 UK time – UA6026 handed over to ground from Tower. Looking for taxi currently.

UPDATE #11 @ 1710 UK time – UA6026 been given gate A1 at Dulles, still unsure of the nature of the emergency at this time.
