A United Airlines flight operating out of Los Angeles for Vancouver has declared an emergency and is diverting to San Francisco.

United Airlines flight UA1909, an Airbus A320 operating the scheduled service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Vancouver International Airport (YVR), declared a general emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst outbound over California.
The aircraft is currently making good a return and diversion to San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Diversion to San Francisco SFO
Flight UA1909 had established on the northerly track for Vancouver, and climbed to FL360 (36,000 feet) before declaring a general emergency and executing a turnaround to make good a diversion to San Francisco (SFO).
The nature of the emergency prompting the unscheduled return is not known.

UA1909 now established for a diversion into San Francisco (SFO) and is currently on descent through 10,000 feet.
Flight data shows UA1909 made an on-time departure out of LAX at 19:14 PST before transiting normally outbound over California airspace, declaring the emergency at around 20:37 PST (04:37 UTC).
The aircraft operating today’s UA1909 rotation is an Airbus A320-200 registered N484UA; a 22-year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier United Airlines.
