A United Airlines flight operating from London Heathrow to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) has declared an emergency whilst en route.
United flight UA905, a Boeing 767-300ER, was outbound over the Atlantic when it declared an emergency with squawk code 7700.
The flight is currently initiating a return to London Heathrow (LHR).

Having initiated the turnaround from the cruise, flight UA905 is now on decent through FL190, and passing the British midlands on a return track for London.

The nature of the emergency prompting the turnaround has just been cited by the online source AirLive @airlivenet as a technical issue.
Flight UA905 is currently passing through FL150 as it continues its return to London Heathrow (LHR).

Weather for the flight’s return to the main London hub is VFR with visibility 10 kilometres or more. Winds are light and RWY27 is currently active.

We provide an update on the technical issue previously reported. Advised by the online source Flight Emergency @FlightEmergency, the problem this afternoon is a cracked windscreen.
