In the last few moments, a Turkish Airlines Boeing 777 from Toronto to Istanbul has declared an emergency.

TK18 is being operated by TC-JJS, one of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

UPDATE #1 @ 1014 UK time – Turkish Airlines flight TK18 from Toronto is descending through FL280, with the diversion airfield yet to be confirmed at this stage.
UPDATE #2 @ 1015 UK time – As per data from Planespotters, TK18 is a 9.2 year old Boeing 777-300ER that was delivered to the airline back in July 2014.

UDPATE #3 @ 1018 UK time – Currently, TK18 is tracking to the north of Stuttgart at FL280.

UPDATE #4 @ 1022 UK time – TK18 is descending once again. Unclear whether it will be entering any form of holds during this process.

UPDATE #5 @ 1024 UK time – TK18 seems to be tracking in the direction of Stuttgart Airport as it descends through FL220-230.

UPDATE #6 @ 1026 UK time – TK18 now tracking away from Stuttgart, showing potentially that it is in a long-winded hold to lose altitude and potentially burn fuel?

UPDATE #7 @ 1027 UK time – Or maybe not? Looks to be the case that the aircraft has picked Stuttgart for its emergency diversion.

UPDATE #8 @ 1031 UK time – TK18 looks to be turning finals for Stuttgart Airport at 7,000 feet. For context, the airport’s elevation is nearly at 2,000 feet.

UPDATE #9 @ 1037 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! As per @RadarBoxCom, TK18 has appeared to have touched down safely into Stuttgart following its 7700 emergency broadcast not too long ago.
