UPDATE #1 @ 1610 UK time – G-TUKO is a 12.5 year old Boeing 737-800 which started out life with TUIfly Nordic as SE-RFU back in June 2011, as per Planespotters.

UPDATE #2 @ 1611 UK time – TUI flight BY357 for London Gatwick from Agadir has u-turned over the northern coastline of Spain and is descending out of FL280 currently.

UPDATE #3 @ 1614 UK time – BY357 no longer squawking the emergency code. However, the diversion airfield has been confirmed as Santiago de Compostela, as per @RadarBoxCom.

UPDATE #4 @ 1616 UK time – BY357 descending through FL190 as it continues its descent through to Santiago de Compostela Airport.

UPDATE #5 @ 1619 UK time – At this stage, it is unclear what the reason for the emergency call is onboard TUI flight BY357 between Agadir and London Gatwick.

UPDATE #6 @ 1620 UK time – BY357 edging closer to Santiago de Compostela, continuing it’s descent through FL130 and lower.

UPDATE #7 @ 1625 UK time – BY357 is now on the base leg into Santiago de Compostela Airport following it’s emergency call a few moments ago.

UPDATE #8 @ 1631 UK time – TUI flight BY357 from Agadir to London Gatwick is now on final for the runway at Santiago de Compostela Airport, the chosen diversion field.

UPDATE #9 @ 1636 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! BY357 has appeared to have touched down safely into Santiago de Compostela as per @RadarBoxCom. As soon as we find out the reason for this emergency, we will update the piece accordingly.
