UPDATE #1 @ 2331 UK time – SKW3396 is descending through 7,000 feet as it prepares for an approach into Santa Ana. No cause for the emergency as of yet.
UPDATE #2 @ 2332 UK time – Whatever the emergency is, it must be serious enough for the aircraft to prepare for a short final for this flight from San Francisco to Santa Ana.
UPDATE #3 @ 2333 UK time – Looks to be attempting either a downwind leg for the active runway at it’s destination field.
UPDATE #4 @ 2338 UK time – SkyWest flight SKW3396 is descending through 3,000 feet as it prepares its turn for final approach.
UPDATE #5 @ 2339 UK time – On base-to-short final now.
UPDATE #6 @ 2342 UK time – Touchdown! SkyWest flight SKW3396 from San Francisco has successfully landed into Santa Ana after broadcasting the emergency squawk whilst on descent. Still awaiting the cause of the emergency at this time.
