It has emerged that a SAUDIA Boeing 777 operating a flight between Islamabad and Jeddah has made an emergency landing in Muscat.

SAUDIA Flight SV3723 – Islamabad to Jeddah: Emergency Landing in Muscat…


It has emerged that a SAUDIA Boeing 777 operating a flight between Islamabad and Jeddah has made an emergency landing in Muscat.

It has emerged that a SAUDIA Boeing 777 operating a flight between Islamabad and Jeddah has made an emergency landing in Muscat.

SAUDIA flight SV3723, which made an emergency landing in Muscat, is a scheduled flight between Islamabad and Jeddah.

The aircraft involved in the incident is registered as HZ-AK23.

As per data from Planespotters.net, HZ-AK23 is a 9.6 year old Boeing 777-300ER that was delivered to the airline in December 2014.

Of the 777-300ER variant, SAUDIA have 37 in the fleet.

Furthermore, of that 37, all but one are in active service, with an average fleet age of 9.7 years.

SV3723 departed Islamabad in the early hours of this morning and tracked west towards Jeddah initially.

However, as the aircraft approached Omani airspace, the aircraft started descending and diverted to Muscat for an emergency landing.

The SAUDIA Boeing 777-300ER landed safely without further incident at 1236 local time.

At this stage, the cause of the emergency into Muscat is unclear on SAUDIA flight SV3723 Islamabad-Jeddah.

AirLive notes that passengers suffered ear pain due to the rapid descent into the Omani airport.
