Yesterday (May 24), a Ryanair flight from Tenerife made an emergency landing at it’s destination of London Stansted Airport.
Information has surfaced regarding this particular incident.

Emergency: Ryanair Flight FR2424 – Tenerife to London Stansted…
Ryanair flight FR2424, which made an emergency landing, is a routine scheduled flight between Tenerife and London Stansted.
The aircraft involved in the incident was registered as EI-EBX.
As per data from Planespotters.net, EI-EBX is a 15.1 year old Boeing 737-800 that was delivered to the Irish airline in April 2009.
Of the 737-800 variant, the Irish subsidiary to the group has 205 of them.
Furthermore, of that 205, all but four are in active service, hosting an average fleet age of 14.6 years.
Ryanair flight FR2424 departed Tenerife at 1203 local time on May 24 and proceeded to London Stansted.
Everything was normal in the flight until the approach phase into Stansted.
It is understood that the crew onboard declared an emergency to air traffic control.
However, the crew did not broadcast the 7700 general emergency squawk code.
It is understood that Ryanair flight FR2424 from Tenerife landed safely into London Stansted at 1611 local time without further incident.
The Cause?: A Flap Failure On The Aircraft…
As per @FlightEmergency on X, it is understood the cause was a flap failure on the aircraft.
After arrival and disembarkation of passengers, the Ryanair Boeing 737-800 was taken out of service.
It is unclear what the extent of the flap failure is, as well as how long it will be grounded for.
Overall, it was a safe landing, and the passengers got to their destination safely regardless of the incident.
