Ryanair 737 inbound to Cagliari declares emergency

A Ryanair flight from Bari, Italy to Cagliari, Sardinia has declared a general emergency in the last few moments.

Ryanair flight FR8726, a Boeing 737-800 enroute from Bari (BRI) to Cagliari (CAG) Sardinia, declared a general emergency, squawking 7700 as it held off in the Gulf of Cagliari to the south of the island.

The nature of the emergency is unclear, although it may possibly be a fuel related issue. Weather is VFR for the flight’s arrival.
