One Air flight London-Hong Kong declares emergency

A One Air freighter aircraft operating from London to Hong Kong has declared an emergency, squawking 7700 not long after departure.

One Air flight HGO211, a Boeing 747 cargo freighter operating from London Heathrow (LHR) to Hong Kong (HKG) declared the emergency whilst establishing outbound from London. The aircraft is currently making good a diversion for Amsterdam (AMS).

Flight data shows that the long haul flight declared the emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst establishing outbound at cruising level FL250 (25,000 feet). The nature of the emergency is not yet known.

After a period of holding off the Netherlands coast, flight HGO211 is now continuing an approach to Amsterdam AMS.

One Air flight HGO211 now landed at the diversion airport Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS).

The nature of the issue prompting this morning’s unscheduled diversion is not yet known. The aircraft conducting this morning’s long haul cargo rotation to Hong Kong is a Boeing 747-433ERSF registered G-ONEE; a 33-year old widebody freighter aircraft belong to the carrier One Air.

One Air is a new British all-cargo airline that launched in 2022. They operate a fleet of Boeing 747-400 freighters and offer charter services to clients in the international freight forwarding, logistics, and air charter markets.
